He's in the 1900 census in Tintah, Traverse County, Minnesota, under "Edman A," Minnesota and in the 1910 (in Hamerly, Renville, North Dakota - northwest of Minot, just a few miles from the Canadian border) and 1920 (in Rich, Case, North Dakota - northwest of Fargo) censuses "under Arthur E." On his 1917 WWI draft card he's farming in Suffolk, Montana.

In the 1940 census he is married to Sarah E and is living in "Simpson's Camp," Wilson, Grays Harbor, Washington where is a busker. (In 1935 they were inferred to be living in Aberdeen, Washington.) No kids are shown.

In 1942 he's living in Aberdeen, Washington and working for the Simpson Logging Company. James Wall will always know his address. The card gives his exact birth date; however, his State of Washington death certificate in 1967 gives his birth date as one year earlier, and most records seem to indicate that 1887 is correct.
