Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 20, 2008 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sauk Rapids for Lyle D. Shiek, age 68, of Sauk Rapids who died Thursday at St. Benedict's Center, St. Cloud. Rev. Ronald Weyrens will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Sauk Rapids and one hour prior to the services Monday at the church. St. Cloud American Legion Post 76 will pray at 6:30 p.m., followed by parish prayers at 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Lyle David Shiek was born Sept. 25, 1940 in rural Benton County to George & Lucille (Raden) Shiek. He served his country in the United States Army from 1959-1962. Lyle married Jane Schueller on June 15, 1963 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sauk Rapids. They have lived in Sauk Rapids since 1972. Lyle was a Bookkeeper and Auditor at Dan Brutger Construction and was the Manager of Gambling at St. Cloud American Legion Post 76. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and St. Cloud American Legion Post 76.

Survivors include his wife, Jane of Sauk Rapids; son and daughter, Kerry William Shiek and Lisa Marie (Terry) Tenter all of Sauk Rapids; sisters and brothers, Georgia (Ron) Hetrick of Grants Pass, OH, William (Shirley) of Foley, Thomas of Minneapolis, Audrey (Richard) Andrus of San Rafael, CA, Gary (Kathy) of Maple Grove, Mary Rose (Dale) Denney of Sauk Rapids, Kevin (Jane) of Anoka, Denise (Gerard) Rossman of Sauk Rapids, and Randy (Brenda) of California; grandchildren, Stephanie (Ryan) & Jordan Shiek, Mercedes & Austin Tenter; and great grandson, Chase.

Lyle was preceded in death by his parents.
