Robert Rooney and his wife Elizabeth Majerus farmed in rural Padua for 38 years before moving to Sauk Centre in 1976. Robert died at the home of his brother, Leo, near Padua, MN. Married 26 Oct 1937 Padua, Stearns County, Minnesota, age 23 years (married 42 years) to:  Elizabeth Mary Majerus, age by marriage 20 yearsBorn 24 May 1917 Trail, Polk County, Minnesota, died 5 May 1997 Sauk Centre, Stearns County, Minnesota, age 79 years Catherine Rooney's husband, Andrew Anthony Majerus, was a sibling to the wife (Elizabeth Majerus) of her own brother, Robert George Rooney. This Majerus family, from Luxembourg and was initially found in the 1920 census in Gully, Polk County, Minnesota, intermarried with the Rooney's in Stearns County (Anthony Andrew Majerus m. Catherine M. Rooney; Elizabeth Majerus m. Robert George Rooney: siblings married siblings). But that another Majerus family starting with John Majerus, born in 1897 in Preston, Iowa, married Olive Mary Flahaven, a granddaughter of Mary Rooney (1837-1905). I can find no evidence that these two Majerus families might be related. Children: 1. Fenske, 76, of Arlington, died Monday, May 25, 2015, at Oak Terrace Health Center in Gaylord. Mass of Christian Burial was at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Arlington. Visitation was from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 27 at the church. Interment was in Arlington Public Cemetery, Arlington. Fr. Keith Salisbury officiated the service. Dorothy was born Dec. 1, 1938 in Padua, Minn., to Robert and Elizabeth (Majerus) Rooney. She attended country school in the Padua area and later graduated from Brooten High School. She moved to Gibbon at a young age to work and later met and married Ervin "Junior" Fenske Sept. 12, 1959, in Padua. She worked at an egg plant in Gibbon and later with Fingerhut in Gaylord, then as a custodian with Arlington School District and finally with Telex Communications in Glencoe. She is survived by her siblings, Bernice (Bill) Zenzen of Elrosa, Theresa (Ed) Koenig of Sauk Centre, Rosie (Jim) Kollman of Brooten, Elaine (Earl) Zenzen of Belgrade, and David (Clara) Rooney of Padua. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin "Junior" Fenske; brother, Robert "Bob" Jr; and sister, Helen (Gene) Nagel. 4.
