GLENDIVE, MT. ---- Robert W. Ming, age 40 years, a well-known freight conductor on this division of the N. P. Railroad, whose home was in Miles City, died at the N. P. Hospital in this City, Monday morning from hemorrhage of the brain after a short illness.

The deceased leaves a widow and four young children.

The body was prepared for Burial at Lowe Brothers Undertaking Parlors and shipped the same day to Miles City for interment.

The Brotherhood will have charge of the funeral which took place this morning.

State Pioneer Dies Wednesday
Mrs. Sarah Ann Mings 62, Came to Billings in 1923

Mrs. Sarah Ann Mings 62, Montana resident since 1878 died at 11 p.m. Wednesday at her home.
She had been ill four months and death was caused by thrombosis.

She was born Feb. 2, 1878 at Padua, MN., a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Darcy.
When she was 9 months old, the family traveled by covered wagon to Miles City, MT.

Mrs. Mings was married to Robert Mings in Miles City in 1900.
Mr. Mings died there in December 1913.

Mrs. Mings came to Billings in 1923.

She was a member

Sarah married Cornelius Mcgree on 09/05/1917 at Miles City, Custer, Montana

Sarah married Robert W. Mings on 11/21/1900 at Miles City, Custer, Montana.

She was a member of St. Patrick's Parish and the St. Patrick's Altar Society.

She is survived by two sons, W.D. Mings of Billings, and R.E. Mings of Hammond, IN.; two daughters, Mrs., Joe Gorman of Glasgow, MT., and Mrs. A,G. Lauson of Chicago, IL., two brother, Felix Darcy of Deer Lodge, MT., and Emmett Darcy of Lillouet, British Columbia; two sisters, Mrs. M. Walsh of Miles City and Agatha Vinecore of Spokane, WA. and eight children.

The body was sent by the Smith Funeral Home to Miles City, MT early Thursday.

Funeral services and Burial will be at Miles City, MT.

Robert E. Mings

Robert E. Mings worked as a conductor for the Indiana Harbor Belt Railroad, part of New York Central System, in Chicago and in Hammond, IN., returning to Billings, MT., in 1972.

He enjoyed fishing, gardening and wood carving.

Mr. Mings died Tuesday in Western Manor Nursing Home.

He was born in Forsyth, a son of Robert and Sarah Mings.

He was raised and educated in Billings and later moved to Chicago.

In 1932, he married Vivian Agnes Stringari in Chicago.

They moved to Hammond in 1940.
Mrs. Mings died Nov. 8, 1984.

Survivors include two sons, Richard W. of Seoul, Korea, Robert C. of Tempe, AZ.; a brother Walter of Ronan, MT., Two sisters, Anges Lauson of Phoenix, AZ., and Mae Belle Gorman of Leesburg, VA.; and six grandchildren.

Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Friday in Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary.
Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Pius X Church.

Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Billings, MT.

Maybelle Gorman

Maybelle Agatha Gorman, 95, of Idaho Falls, formerly of Glasgow, Mont., died May 19, 2006 at Good Samaritan Care Center in Idaho Falls.

Maybelle was born Dec. 3, 1910 in Glendive, Minn., to Robert and Sarah Mings. She grew up in Eastern Montana and attended schools in Billings, Montana.

On Dec. 5, 1932, she married Joseph Gorman in Miles City, Mont. He died in 1972. They owned and operated the Rainbow Motel and Normont Dairies in Glasgow until they retired in 1972. She moved to Leeburg, VA, and then to Idaho Falls.

She was a member of the Roman Catholic Church.

She enjoyed music, cards, children and traveling. Maybelle was a proud, strong, hardworking and fun-loving wife, mother and business woman who loved to entertain; she was a good cook and a great hostess.

Survivors include her son, Daniel Gorman, of South Dakota. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe; daughter Doris Mae Johnson; and infant daughter Maryanne.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, May 26, in the chapel at Good Samaritan Care Center, 840 E. Elva St. in Idaho Falls. Arrangements are under the direction of Buck-Miller-Hann Funeral Home in Idaho Falls.
