Rev. Blane Wasnie, OSB will officiate. Visitation will be at t he Williams Funeral Home, Avon from 4-9 PM on Monday, May 16th. Paris h prayers will be at 6:30 p.m and Christian Women will pray at 7:30 p. m. Friends may also call after 9:30 a.m. at the church on May 17th. Lorraine was born on December 25, 1922 in St. Paul, Minnesota and wa s raised with 16 other children by Nick and Johanna Schirmers of Avon. She married Melvin T. Raden on May 11, 1943 in Avon where they lived a ll their lives. Lorraine worked at St. John?s University in the Food S ervice area for 22 years. She was a lifetime member of the Avon Christ ian Mother?s Association. She is survived by her children, LeRoy (Mary Lou), Waite Park; Diane ( Terry) Pflipsen, Avon; Gloria (Pete) Smith, Crystal; David (Susan), Wa ite Park; Eileen (Frank) Nathe, Avon; Lois ?Odie? (Steve) Goward, Sa n Diego, CA; 10 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, brothers Josep h Schirmers, St. Cloud; Edmund Burke, North Carolina; sister Dolores A nderson, Montana. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Melvin on Novembe r 11, 1991, three sons, Ronald, Jeffrey and Daniel; one daughter Eliza beth, and 13 of the children she was raised with. Lorraine enjoyed life! Even with all the many challenges that she face d, she always met you with a smile and words of comfort and joy. Children: 1.
