Clement A. King, 80, of 800 S. Conklin Ave., died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 1993, at McKennan Hospital, of pancreatic cancer.

Mr. King was born March 26, 1912, in Morton, Minn. He moved as an infant, with his parents, to Conde. He received his education in Conde. He attended St. John's University and the University of Minnesota.

He married Jean Mitchell in 1939. Before retiring, he served as an executive with Allis Chalmers Farm Machinery Co. in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Nebraska. After his retirement, he worked at Montgomery Wards and Flynn Outdoor Advertising.

Survivors include his wife, Jean; three sons: Thomas of Salina, Kan., Kevin of Sioux Falls, and David of Lubbock, Texas; four daughters: Kathleen Usery of Broomfield, Colo., Virginia Otterness of Eden Prairie, Minn., Norma Riedmann of Carroll, Iowa, and Mary Nelson of Omaha, Neb.; 12 grandchildren; and one brother, Morris of Sioux City, Iowa.

Funeral Mass will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Lambert's Catholic Church, with burial at St. Michael Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 7 tonight at the church.

Scripture vigil will be said at 7:30 tonight at the church.

Barnett-Lewis Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Sioux Falls - Jean King, 86, died Sunday, December i, 2002, at Avera Prince of Peace Retirement Center of complications from a fall one month ago.

Jean Mitchell was born April 2, I9I6 in Brooten, MN. A graduate of St. Cloud Teachers' College (St. Cloud State University) she taught in Perham, MN. In I939, she married Clement A. King. They lived in many states while working with Allis Chalmers including California, North Dakota. Minnesota, Nebraska and then settling in Sioux Falls in I964. In I98I, Jean and her husband started King Toys making handmade doll furniture. Their business ended in I993 when Clem died, Jean continued making doll quilts to sell at the General Store in Minnetonka, MN, and craft sales around the Midwest with her last quilt selling two days before her death.

She has been a member of St. Lambert's parish since I965, and was extremely active in fund raising for Catholic education. She was a member of Catholic Daughters of America and was one of the runners up for the I976 South Dakota Mother of the Year.

She is survived by four daughters: Kathleen (Paul) Usery, Denver, CO, Virginia (Ron) Otterness, Eden Prairie, MN, Norma (Gary) Riedmann, Carroll, IA, and Mary (O.A. Mike) Nelson, Sioux Falls, SD; three sons: Tom (loAnne) King, Lawrence, KS, Kevin (Sheila) King, Des Moines, IA. and David (Becky) King. Lubbock, TX; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clem, sister, Margaret, and brothers James and Tom.

Funeral services will begin at l:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 4. at Avera Prince of Peace Nursing Home Chapel with burial in St. Michael Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Heritage Funeral Home with a Catholic Daughters of America Rosary at 6:30 p.m. followed by a Christian Wake Service at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
