Mary A. Egan, 81, Velva, ND, passed away at Trinity Hospital in Minot on May 9, 2015.

Mary Ardith Hill was born in Page, North Dakota to Lyle and Clara (Lemley) Hill on July 6, 1933. She graduated from Page High School (Go Panthers!), Valley City State Teachers College, and Mayville State University. She married Howard V. Egan Jr. on February 7, 1953. Howard was in the U. S. Navy and they lived in Boston MA, Seattle WA, and Myrtle Creek OR before returning to North Dakota. Mary taught in the Rolla and St. John school systems and St. Mary's High School in Devils Lake. She later worked for Conlin's Furniture Store.

She is survived by her children Katheen Egan Garza, Portland, OR; Meredith (Scott) Pfennig, Sawyer, ND; Peggy (Dan) Kurtz, Grand Forks, ND; twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Joanna, and her parents.
