Murphy, 87 Minneapolis April 17, 1925 - Oct. 12, 2012 Marian A. Murphy, age 87, of Mpls, passed away October 12, 2012. Preceded in death by husband Bernard Murphy and son-in-law Robert Spector. Marian lived life with inspiring energy, grace, and humor. She was known for a twinkle in her eye and a mischievous smile. Marian received a Masters in Psychiatric Nursing degree from the University of Iowa and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Minnesota. She was a psychiatric nurse and Director of the Outpatient Clinic at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in St. Cloud, Minnesota. Marian was a teacher of student nurses and was President of the Minnesota Nurses Association. She was a competitive tennis player, representing Minnesota at the U.S. Senior Olympics on three occasions. Above all else, Marian was a loving mother and grandmother.
