Nagle (Maria Elizabeth Nagel) "Libbie", who had suffered from pneumonia for the past few days, passed away early this morning at her home, 603 5th Avenue. Mrs. Nagle who was 73, had resided in International Falls for 27 years. Besides her husband, one son and five daughters survive. They are John of International Falls; Mrs. John Flood of Madison, WI; Mrs. Clarence Anderson of Janesville, WI; Mrs. W. Asbury of Whitewater, I; Mrs. Fred Polenski, of Green Lake, WI, and Caroline of International Falls. Two sisters who survive are Mrs. R. Helen Helson of Chioctin, WI; and Mrs. F. The former Etta Rooney was born March 17, 1879, near Green Bay. She lived lived in the Brooklyn area for several years. She was married to Neil Smith in 1904. He died in 1927. Later she was married to John Flood who died in 1945. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs John Elmer, Rt 1, Albany, and Mrs Jesse Lloyd rural Belleville, nine grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, a brother John Rooney, Stillwater, Minn, and a sister Mrs Catherine Anderson, Janesville. The former Catherine Rooney was born May 2, 1886, in Northern Wisconsin and was married in Rockford Sept 7, 1907. Mr Anderson died Nov 22, 1967. Mrs Anderson had lived here more than 65 years and was a member of First Baptist Church. A son, Raymond, was killed in action in WWII. Surviving are a son, Howard E. Anderson, and two grandchildren. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Overton Funeral Home with burial in Milton Lawns Memorial Park. 3. Her biological birth last name was Rooney - daughter of John Rooney (burial location unknown) & Maria Elizabeth "Libbie" Layman Rooney Nagle (buried Forest Hill Cemetery, International Falls, Minnesota). obit "The Whitewater Register", Whitewater, Wisc, Sept 17, 1953 Mrs Wesley Asbury (Nellie Barnes), passed away at her son's home Tuesday at 2 o'clock after a brave but losing fight for life. She was operated upon July 1 and had declined in strength ever since. She has been at her son Russell's home on Esterly St. where she received devoted care from Russell, his wife and daughter. Nellie Irene Barnes was born at DePere July 2, 1886. While still an infant, her parents moved here and she spent the remainder of her life in Whitewater. Mrs Asbury attended the local grade and high school On March 18, 1911, she and Wesley Asbury were married here. A daughter, Aletha preceded her in death. A member of the Methodist church, her pastor, Rev. Lewis Douglass will conduct services in the Hickory Funeral Home Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. Burial wil be in Hillside Cemetery. 4.
