Vincent lived in Brooten for 19 years and was co-partner of the Nelson-Egan Produce, was a member of the council and a fireman,while he resided there. He moved to St Cloud in 1964. He was a navy veteran of WWII, the American Legion Post 76, and St. Michael's parish. He was a past manager and co-owner of the Tidy Turkey farm at Melrose, MN. He died at the Good Shepherd's Lutheran Home, Sauk Rapids, MN. His funeral was at St Michael's Catholic church.

Richard B. "Dick" Egan, age 98 of Melrose, died Thursday, January 10, 2013 at St. Gertrude's Health and Rehabilitation Center in Shakopee, Minnesota.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday, January 18 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose with Rev. Marvin Enneking officiating and Rev. Ken Thielman concelebrating. A private family inurnment will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. Military Honors will be provided by the Melrose Veterans Honor Guard.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the mass at the church.

Richard Benedict Egan was born March 6, 1914 in Brooten, Minnesota to Joseph and Anna (Anderson) Egan. Dick was a World War II veteran who served during the Battle of Normandy, where he earned a Silver and Bronze Battle Star. On May 24, 1952, he was united in marriage to Lucienne "Lucy" Gosselin in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Dick started as a field representative for Willmar Poultry Company. He then went on to become an independent turkey farmer in the Melrose Area. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose, Schanhaar-Otte VFW Post 7050 and the American Legion Post 101. Dick enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, golfing, boating, and traveling and loved spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Lucy Egan; children, Michelle (Jim) Langlas of Naples, Florida, Anne Marie (David) Gant of Apple Valley, Tim (Ann) Egan of Dillon, Montana, and Denise (Robert) Loonan of Shakopee; 14 grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Patricia Egan of Naples, Florida.

Dick was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Egan; infant grandson, Philip Egan; brothers, Philip Egan, Russel Egan, and Vincent Egan; and sisters, Ethel Mollner, Leone Witts, Margaret Nelson, and Elaine Egan.

Elaine E. Egan, 84, of Melrose died Thursday, March 18, 2004 at Pine Villa Care Center in Melrose.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Melrose with Rev. Vincent Lieser officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Donatus Cemetery, Brooten, Minnesota.

Friend may call from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church on Saturday.

Elaine Egan was born in Brooten, Minnesota to Joseph and Anne (Anderson) Egan. She graduated from Minneapolis Business College and had attended the University of Minnesota. Elaine lived in Minneapolis where she was employed by Knox Reeves Advertising, Inc from 1942 to 1956. She personally signed over 400 baseball players and countless numbers of athletes in other sports for the Wheaties Campaign. She was also employed by Readers Digest for 24 years. Elaine was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Melrose. She enjoyed sports, reading and being involved with her nieces and nephews.

Survivors include her brother, Richard Egan (Lucy) of Melrose; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters and brothers, Ethel Mollner, Leone Witts, Margaret Nelson, Philip, Vincent and Russell Egan.

Serving as casket bearers will be Denise Loonan, Anne Gant, John Egan, James Egan, Delores Stafford and Patty Spaeth. Serving as cross bearer will be Chris Gant and the scripture bearer will be Ben Loonan.

Memorials are preferred to St. Mary's School Endowment Fund.
