"Mike" Chamberlain, 91, of Taconite, died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2008, at Home and Comfort. He was born Oct. 13, 1916, in Clontarf, Minn., the son of Lilly and Dan Chamberlain. Martin and Amelia Pianfetti were married on Feb. 9, 1946, in Hibbing. Mike graduated from the University of Minnesota as a valedictorian with a degree in business administration. He worked for 42 years as a mine controller for Cleveland Cliffs Iron Company. He was elected for 41 years of service as the clerk of Taconite. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Taconite. Mike loved being with his family, especially at the cabin, and he enjoyed bowling, horseshoes, crossword puzzles and playing cards. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Amelia, of Taconite; sons: Dennis (Dolores) of Watsonville, Calif., Paul (Rita) of Eagan, Minn., Jerome (Pam) of New Ulm, Minn., and Mark (Jane) of Bovey; daughters, Mary Ann (Bob) Jens of St. Paul, and Jean (Dennis) Jennings of Libertyville, Ill.; sisters: Kathleen, Madeline "Honey," and Shirley; a brother, Terry; grandchildren: Martin, Patrick, Matt, Staci, Michael, Jessica, Sam, Meghan, Aaron, Max and Mariel; great-grandchildren: Eleora, Michael, Savannah, Evelyn and Cody; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Gerald "Dan," Tim and Mickey; a sister, Muriel Holzemer; grandsons Bobby Jens and Jonathan Chamberlain; and a granddaughter, Elizabeth Chamberlain. Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents, Lily and Dennis Chambe lain; her loving husband, Dellwood LeClair; her daughter, Tereasa (Pat) Covier; her sister, Muriel Holzemer; her brothers, Mike, Dan, Mickey and Tim Chamberlain. Kathleen is survived by her children, Kay Preston of Bemidji; Dell (Dawn) LeClair of Bovey; Bernadette LeClair of Eagan, Michelle "Micki' (Mick) Metzer of Coleraine; Debra LeClair (Joe Marinaro) of Blaine; Barbara (Roger) Erjavec of Shakopee; Kevin LeClair of Taconite; 25 grandch ildren, 41 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; her sisters, Shirley (Richard) Stocco of Nashwauk and Honey (Al) Medin a of Fort Worth, Texas; her brother, Terry (Dorie) Chamberlain of Fort Worth, Texas; and sister-in-law, Amelia Chamberlain of Taconite. Kathleen was the 2000 Itasca County Senior Citizen of the Year, a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, the Daughters of Isabella, Cursillo, Taconite Elderberries, Triad, Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital Auxiliary, KIWI and numerous other volunteer activities. VISITATION: 6-8 P.M. Monday, Sept. 27, 2010 in the Peterson Funeral Chapel of Coleraine and from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, preceding the Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Taconite. Interment will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Coleraine. 6. Muriel Marie ChamberlainBorn 30 Jul 1927 Coleraine, Itasca County, Minnesota, died 20 Jan 1971 Taconite, Itasca County, Minnesota Event Description: Lake View Cemetery, Coleraine, age 43 years Muriel was killed running a snowmobile at night and crossed one of the mine roads near Taconite and hit a mine truck.
