Age 86, passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2016. He was born in Brooten, MN on April 18, 1930, a son of the late John T. and Ethel (Redmond) Rooney. Loving husband of Sharon L. (Bems). Beloved father of Susan (Darrell) Fischer and Shannon (Thomas) Hanson. Dear brother of Evie (the late George) Kukowski, Rita (Charles) Bruders and Sheila (Dennis) Barry. Loving grandfather of Michelle, Joseph, John "Jack" and Ally. John was proud Korean War Veteran.

Memorial visitation Saturday, April 9, 2016 from 11 to 12 Noon in the chapel at ALEXIAN VILLAGE (9301 N. 76th Street, Milwaukee). A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 12 Noon. Military honors will follow. Final rest will be in the Veteran's Cemetery in Union Grove.


Rooney, John T. "Tom" Passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2016 two weeks before his 86th birthday.

He was the son of the late John T. and Ethel (Redmond) Rooney. Loving husband of Sharon L. (Bems). Beloved father of Susan (Darrell) Fischer and Shannon (Thomas) Hansen. Dear brother of Evie (the late George) Kukowski, Rita (Charles) Bruders and Sheila (Dennis) Barry. Loving "Boppie" of Michelle, Joseph, John "Jack" and Ally.

Tom was an Army veteran who served in Korea during the war. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed football, golf and NASCAR.

Visitation Saturday, April 9, 2016 from 11 to 12 noon with a church service and military honors to follow. Alexian Village Chapel, 9301 N. 76th St. (take first right up hill to main entrance). If desired, memorials to a charity of your choice.

Beloved wife of Charles Bruders for 60 years. Loving Mother of Chuck Bruders Jr., Robert "Bob" (Elizabeth) Bruders, Maureen (the late Richard) Herzog and Paul Bruders (Annette Veil). Loving Grandmother of 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of the late Tom (Sharon) Rooney. Evie (the late George) Kukowski and Shelia (Dennis) Berry. Sister-in-law of the late Beverly (the late Chuck Coakley), Bonnie (Jerry) Stevlingson, Tom (Mary) Bruders, Mary (Fred) Wellman, the late Pat (Mike) Pauly and the late Jim (Mary) Bruders. Rita will also be remembered by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Rita worked at the phone company for 20 years and was an avid reader. She also loved her pet dogs.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 10, 2022, at CHURCH AND CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME 1875 N. Calhoun Rd., Brookfield, from 5:00 PM followed by the service at 7:00 PM. Private interment St. Patrick Cemetery, Waldo, WI.
