Lance Edman, 64 of Pennock, died Thursday, October 20, 2016 at the Paynesville Area Hospital. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 24, 2016 at East Norway Lake Lutheran Church near New London. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the Johnson Funeral Home in New London and for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Lundby Cemetery near Pennock.

Lance Ross Charles Edman was born on May 15, 1952 in Willmar, the son of Charles and Elaine (Lesteberg) Edman. He grew up on the family farm north of Pennock. He attended New London High School, graduating in 1970. On September 30, 1972, Lance was united in marriage to Marilyn Walz at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. To this union three sons were born. They made their home on the Edman family farm where he farmed, drove bus for Peterson Bus service, worked at Belgrade Sales Barn and Hillcrest Truck Stop.

Lance was a member of East Norway Lake Lutheran Church and served on the Lundby Cemetery Board. He enjoyed playing cards, farming, listening and helping others. He especially loved spending time with his boys.

Lance is survived by his sons, Shawn Edman (significant other, Rachael) of Pennock, Shane (Amy) Edman of Elk River, and Shale Edman (significant other, Megan) of Denver, Co; grandchildren; ex-wife, Marilyn Edman; mother, Elaine Peterson; and siblings, Lori (Bruce) Meder, Lynae (John) Olson and Laird (Sally) Edman. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles and step-father, Russell Peterson.

The family would especially like to thank the angels from Marion Manor in Sunburg, Pastor Wayne, and the neighbor and friends who have helped him. In Lieu of thank you notes, the family is planning donation to the Sunburg Ambulance.

Shawn L. Edman, 46 of rural Pennock, died unexpectedly of natural causes, Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at his home. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 24, 2021 at East Norway Lake Lutheran Church near New London. Visitation will be from 5-8 Friday at the Johnson Funeral Home in New London and for one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will be in Lundby Cemetery near Pennock. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.

Shawn Lance Edman was born on July 26, 1974 in Willmar, the son of Lance and Marilyn (Walz) Edman. He grew up on the family farm near Pennock and attended New London-Spicer High School, graduating in 1992. He continued his education at Waldorf College for a short time before returning to the area. He worked for Jennie-O, Pepsi, Arnold's Implement and Coke before finding his dream job at Magnum Trucking. In August of 1997, he had his first daughter, Kelsey with Rachael Lloyd. In May of 1998, he had his second daughter, Madison Lalim with Kelli Lalim. In 2007, he was united in marriage to Jennifer Kester and her children, Nick and Katlyn. They later divorced. On April 9, 2018, Shawn was united in marriage to Rachael Lloyd. They made their home on the Edman family farm.

Shawn was a member of the Willmar Eagles and VFW. He loved sports and played football, baseball and basketball in his youth. As an adult he played softball and bowled. He enjoyed watching sports, talking with his brothers, playing cards, playing with his niece, nephews and his grandson.

Shawn is survived by his wife, Rachael; their daughter, Kelsey and their grandson, Keegan Schemmel; his daughter, Madison Lalim; step-children, Michael (Laura) Lloyd, Aaron (Tosha) Privette and Kayla Fox(fiancé, Kelsey); mother, Marilyn Edman; brothers, Shane (Amy) Edman and Shale (fiancé, Megan) Edman; and nieces, Carissa and Sophia and nephew, Cody. He was preceded in death by his father, Lance.
