His profession was as a court reporter in Long Prairie, Minnesota. He was adopted along with his brother Jim in about 1961, and their birth father's name was Adrian Weber, born 7 January 1917 in Minnesota and died 28 May 1989 in Stearns County, Minnesota. Their birth mother's name was Norma Elizabeth Senn, born 1918.

Bill and Jim also have two full brothers: Michael Edwin Weber, b. 1 Feb 1954 in Pope County, and Steven Weber, b. 31 May 1955 in Stearns County.

Bill was married to Marlene Dorothy Funk and had two daughters when he died unexpectedly of a heart ailment at the age of 47.
