Al had many illnesses since he was 17 when he was stricken with polio and again at 21 and told he would never walk again. He was a poster child for the March of Dimes in 1952. He was also a carpenter and later a cash crop farmer because of his health. Al enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, all wild life, dancing and many jokes. He always had a joke when he met you. He was a Granite Ledge Twp. supervisor and election judge, Benton soil and water conservation rain gauge reader, Fire Warden, former parish trustee, pastoral council member and a lector and Eucharistic minister, all for many years. He was a member of St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church and also a former St. Cloud Dominic member.
He is survived by his wife, Janice, Foley; sister, twin, Rita Stephens, Medford; and Rose Mary (John) Grote, Winona; Godchildren, Julie Merth and Shiela Priem and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother and sisters, Everett, Stanelia Kujawa, Mary Ann Olson, Theodoris Brtek, Bernice Frytz an infant sister, Mary; and father and mother-in-law, Earl and Susan Killeen. A special thank you to St. Cloud Hospice.
