Peter Raden of Avon died Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. He was born in Germany in 1865 and came to America at the age of 12.

Surviving are Mrs. Raden and the following 10 children: Lawrence, St. Cloud; Mrs. Frank Jochum of Cold Spring; William of Tacoma WA; Mrs. Wm. Rooney, Duluth; Ben and Leo Raden of Milwaukee; Melvin and Mrs. Ralph Mahern of Avon; Mrs. George Shiek of Minneapolis; and Sgt. John P. Raden in the army. There are 35 grandchildren and two brothers - John Raden of St. Augusta; and Nicholas in Alabama; and two sisters, Mrs. John Keppers of Avon and Mrs. Margtaret House of Sauk Centre.

William P. Raden, 64, of 9324 Canyon Road, died in a Puyallup hospital Wednesday morning. He was born in Avon, Minn., and had lived in thi s area 21 years.

Mr. Raden was a farmer. He was a member of St. John of the Woods Catholic Church, Fruitland Grange and Painters Union.

Surviving are his wife, Frances; five sons, James P., Edward P., Richard J. and Charles W., all of the home, and Kenneth M. of Tacoma; four daughters, Miss Ione Raden of Tacoma, Mrs. Harold (Viola) Marcoe of Puyallup and Mary Ann and Linda Rose, both of the home; four brothers, Leo and Ben, both of Milwaukee, Wis., Peter of Hampton, Va., and Melvin of Avon; three sisters, Mrs. Irene Machren of Avon, Mrs. Anne Jachum of Cold Spring, Minn., and Mrs. Lucille Shick of St. Cloud, Minn.; and three grandchildren.

Services are announced today by Powers-Wrigley-Clements Funeral Home, Puyallup.

Mrs. William Rooney, 1424 Bellmont Road, Duluth, died suddenly at her home Friday afternoon. She was the former Mary Raden of Avon and was 58 years old.

She was preceded in death by her husband in October, 1956 and by one brother.

Surviving are her children Mrs. Leonard Nelson (Mary Ellen), Mrs. Kenneth Chaflin (Mary Ann) and Kathleen, all of Duluth.

Brothers and sisters surviving are: William Raden, Puylalla, Wash.; Ben and Leo, Milwaukee; Mrs. Frank Jochum, Cold Sprin;, Pete, Hampton, VA.; Mrs Ralph Machren and Melvin, Avon; Mrs George Stuck, St. Cloud.

Feneral services will be Tuesday at 9 a.m. at St. Anthony church.

Funeral services were Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2004 at St. Benedict's Cathol ic Church, Avon for Irene E. Maehren, 96, who died Saturday, Jan. 31 , 2004 at Country Manor Nursing Home, Sartell. The Rev. Blane Wasnie , O.S.B. officiated. Arrangements were made by the Williams Funeral Ho me, Avon.

Irene was born Sept. 10, 1907 in Avon to Peter and Mary (Rooney) Raden . She graduated from Avon High School and attended one year of teacher s college at St. Cloud State University. She married Ralph Maehren Jun e 6, 1938 at St. Benedict's Catholic Church, Avon. She was a wife, mot her and homemaker for her entire life. Irene enjoyed reading, cooking , gardening, watching the Minnesota Twins baseball team, dancing and t raveling.

Irene is survived by her children: Sandy (Stan) Korneck, Waite Park; R obert Maehren, Circle Pines; Janet (Marvin) Neubert, Sauk Rapids; nin e grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph on Aug. 9, 2000; dau ghter: Delores "DeDe"; brothers and sisters: William, Laurence, Benedi ct, Leo, John, Melvin, Mary, Anna, and Lucille.

HAMPTON - John Peter Raden, 82, a native of Avon, Minn., and a Peninsula resident for 50 years, died Friday, April 17.

Mr. Raden retired from the Hampton Veterans Administration Medical Center after 30 years. He was a World War II veteran, a member of Knights of Columbus Council 511 and a member of Nocturnal Adoration Society.

Survived by his wife, Sophie Raden; a daughter, Mrs. Steven A. Vetter of Norfolk; a son, Richard Raden of Zephyrhills, Fla.; two sisters, Irene Machren of Avon and Lucille Sheik of Waite Park, Minn.; six stepchildren; and four grandchildren.

Wake at 7 p.m. Monday at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home by the Rev. Nicholas Helldorfer.

Visitation following wake until 8 p.m.

Funeral 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church by the Rev. James R. McDonald. Burial in Parklawn Memorial Park.
