Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30am on Friday, December 14, 2012 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Waite Park for Stanley "Stan" Korneck, 76, of Waite Park who died December 11, 2012 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Rev. Mark Innocenti will officiate and burial will be in the St. Joseph's Parish Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call from 4:00-8:00pm TODAY, Thursday, December 13, 2012 at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, St. Cloud; and one hour prior to mass on Friday at St. Joseph's Church. Parish prayers will be prayed at 5:15pm on Thursday.

Stan was born to Paul and Victoria (Schwalbe) Korneck on March 25, 1936 in St. Anna. On September 16, 1958 he married Sandra Maehren at St. Benedict's Catholic Church in Avon. Stan proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a firefighter for St. Cloud Township for 20 years; and most recently worked as a Dispatcher for Hardrives. Stan was a musician with Stan's Concertina Band along with other musical groups for 23 years. He loved golf, sinking seven holes-in-one during his career. He also enjoyed wood-working, playing cards- especially poker, shaking the dice and cribbage. Stan was an easygoing man with a wonderful sense of humor as well as a gentle, loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a teacher at heart and enjoyed teaching his children new things in a hands-on manner. Stan will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Stan is survived by his loving wife, Sandra; children, Russell (Deb) Korneck of Avon, Tammy (Mike) Weiman of St. Joseph, Kevin (Kimberly) Korneck of Avon; siblings, Norma Streit of St. Anna, Gladys Morgel of St. Paul; seven grandchildren; and he greatly anticipated the birth of his first great-grandchild, Lila.

Stan was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Kelly Swiggum; and siblings, Alex Korneck, Daniel "Donny" Korneck, Elmer Korneck, and David Withers.

Sandy was born on March 7, 1939 in St. Cloud to Ralph and Irene (Raden ) Maehren. She married Stanley Korneck on September 16, 1958 at St. Be nedict’s Catholic Church in Avon. Together the couple enjoyed dancing , especially Polka, cards and working on creative projects.

Demonstrating her compassion on a daily basis, Sandy was employed at t he St. Cloud Hospital in the nursery, caring for newborn babies. She a lso worked at JC Penney’s in the children’s department and ShopKo in t he women’s department. Sandy was warm hearted and loved her family bey ond words. She was very talented and enjoyed embroidery, quilting an d crafting; giving gifts to members of her family. Sandy was caring, k ind and knowledgeable. She always had an answer for everything and wa s thoughtful and witty. Sandy will be dearly missed by all who knew he r.

Sandy is survived by her children, Russell (Deb) Korneck of Avon, Tamm y (Mike) Weiman of St. Joseph, Kevin (Kimberly) Korneck of Avon; sibli ngs, Robert “Bob” Maehren of Circle Pines and Janet (Marvin) Neubert o f Sauk Rapids; 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. She was precede d in death by her parents; husband, Stanley; daughter, Kelly Swiggum ; and sister Delores “Dede” Sobania.

UTICA -- The funeral for Kelly Ann Swiggum will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Faith Lutheran Church in St. Charles with the Rev. Jeff Forbes officiating.

Mrs. Swiggum, 33, of rural Utica, a Mayo Clinic employee, died Wednesday (May 24, 2000) at her home following a brief illness.

Kelly Ann Korneck was born Jan. 1, 1967, in Little Falls, Minn. She graduated from St. Cloud Technical College in 1985 and from the University of Minnesota-Waseca with associate degrees in light horse management and animal science. On May 13, 1989, she married Ralph Swiggum in Waite Park, Minn. Mrs. Swiggum had worked at the Lewiston Veterinary Clinic and since 1992, worked in cardiovascular research at Mayo Clinic. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in St. Charles, was involved with Sunday day care and was a Ranch Rodeo member.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Allison, at home; her parents, Stan and Sandy (Maehren) Korneck of Waite Park; two brothers, Russ Korneck of Avon, Minn., and Kevin Korneck of Waite Park; a sister, Tammy Weiman of St. Joseph, Minn.; and maternal grandparents, Ralph and Irene Maehren of Avon.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Hoff Funeral Homes-St. Charles Chapel and an hour before the service Saturday at the church.
