Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Augustine's Catholic Church for Roy H. Laramie, 68, of rural St. Cloud, who died Wednesday at St. Cloud Hospital. The Rev. Robert Wieber will officiate. Burial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at Daniel Funeral Home, St. Cloud. Moose Lodge 1400 will pray at 2 p.m.; East Side VFW Post 4847 will pray at 6:30 p.m.; parish prayers will be held at 7 p.m.; and St. Augustine's Men's Group will pray at 7:30 p.m.

Laramie was born March 3, 1919 [sic], in Grand Rapids to Elmer and Lucy (Robichaud) Laramie. He married Cecelia Murphy June 8, 1946, at Holy Angels Catholic Church in St. Cloud. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He worked as an instructor at the Minnesota Correctional Facility-St. Cloud for 25 years until he retired in 1974. He was a member of St. Augustine's Men's Group and Usher's Club; VFW Post 4847; Moose Lodge 1400; Beaux and Belles Square Dancers Club; and National Ski Hall of Fame.

Survivors include his wife, Cecelia; two sons, Daniel, Monticello, and Jim, St. Cloud; two brothers, Paul, Coleraine, and Arthur, Sanford, N.C.; a sister, Mrs. John (Marjorie) Hennessy, Minneapolis; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Adele Sterle.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Cecilia J. "Murph" Laramie, age 95, of St. Cloud, who passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Reverend Gerald Dalseth will officiate. Burial, with full military honors, will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at St. Paul's Catholic Church.
Cecilia was born on January 28, 1922 to Joseph and Mary (Murphy) Murphy in Melrose, Minnesota. She graduated from St. Cloud Cathedral High School and later graduated from the St. Mary's Hospital School of Nursing in Minneapolis. After graduating, Cecilia honorably served her country in the United States Army as a Second Lieutenant Army Nurse at Fort Carson, Colorado, during World War II. She was united in marriage to Roy H. Laramie on June 8, 1946 at Holy Angels Catholic Church in St. Cloud. Cecilia worked at the St. Cloud Hospital and eventually retired from the St. Cloud V.A. Medical Center after 35 years of service. She was a member of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association (N.A.R.F.E.), the American Legion Waite Park Silver Star Post 28, the District 742 Fun Singers, past member of St. Augustine's Catholic Church, where she sang in the choir and volunteered at the school library, and St. Paul's Catholic Church, where she sang in the funeral choir.
Murph was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was an avid golfer, golfing until she was 89 years old. She was a member of the Wapicada Golf Club in Sauk Rapids, where she was a league player, and was an original stockholder of the Rich Spring Country Club in Richmond. Murph was an avid walker, always walking the golf course and at the Whitney Senior Center and also enjoyed square dancing with her husband.
She is survived by her children, Dan (Jane), of Traverse City, MI and James (Laine) of St. Cloud; four grandchildren; sister, Mary Eileen Katsis, of Oak Brook, IL and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Cecilia is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy, on July 1, 1988; one grandson; four brothers, Leo, Barny, Dr. John "Hugh" and Fr. Patrick Malachy; and four sisters, Em Kahl, Theresa Maglich, Nan Konyot and Loretta May Murphy.
