MARINETTE, Wis. — David Daniel Darcy M.D., 62, died Sunday at Bay Are a Medical Center in Marinette, Wis.

Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Hansen-Onion-Martell Funeral Hom e in Marinette. Funeral mass is 11 a.m. Friday in Holy Family Parish-O ur Lady of Lourdes Church in Marinette Wis., with burial in Forest Hom e Cemetery.

David is survived by five of his seven siblings, Sal, Joe, Pat, Tom an d Francie; his children Sara D. Seaborg and her husband, Thor, of Sand point, Idaho, Robert Darcy of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Uri Gressel an d Samuel Darcy of Marinette; one grandson, Finn Darcy Seaborg; a siste r-in-law, Ann Wettlaufer; special friend, Teri Kelly of Peshtigo an d a dear family friend, Marjorie Bjork of Marinette. A brother, Mike , and a sister, Mary, preceded him in death.

He was born on Nov. 22, 1942, in Lewistown, Mont., the second younges t of eight children, to Emmett Darcy and Frances White. His mother die d suddenly when he was four.

David, known as "Danny" in his Montana hometown, attended St. Leo's Sc hool through twelfth grade, when he graduated at the top of his clas s in 1960. The following fall, he matriculated at Gonzaga University i n Spokane, Wash., where he worked to pay for his studies toward a bach elor's degree in philosophy. Following graduation, he joined the Peac e Corps where he taught school children in Malaysia and met Rayne Farq uhar of St. Davids, Pa., whom he married in 1967.

Upon returning to the states, he was drafted into the Army during th e Vietnam War. Stationed in Germany, he made several tours in Vietna m where he was awarded three Purple Hearts. During this time Rayne gav e birth to their daughter, Sara.

When he had completed his military service, he moved with his young fa mily to Minneapolis, Minn., where he enrolled in the University of Min nesota Medical School, and saw the birth of his son, Bob. At this time , Rayne was diagnosed with cancer, which she battled for the next seve ral years. After graduating with his M.D. in 1973, David moved with hi s family to Marinette to join the Marinette Medical Clinic. After Rayn e's death in 1977, David remarried in 1984, a marriage that resulted i n the blessing of a stepson, Uri, and the birth of another son, Samuel .

David was a cherished doctor in the area, with many loyal and loving p atients. He devoted himself to their care and to lending them an atten tive ear. He extended his professional life to the less fortunate of t he world, serving as a doctor in mission groups with Save the Childre n in Brazil, Africa, Central America and other parts of the developin g world.

For many years he was an avid runner, devoted to physical training an d competing in numerous marathons. He engaged in mountain climbing i n the western United States and was known to travel around the world t o observe solar eclipses. He was also a voracious reader of books cove ring a broad range of interests.
