Loren D. Dahlgren, age 83, of Strandburg, SD, passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2019, at the hospital in Milbank, SD. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 2, 2019, at Tabor Lutheran Church in Strandburg. Pastor Elmer Brinkman will officiate. Music will be provided by Kathy Granquist as organist with Richard Thompson as soloist.

Visitation will take place prior to funeral services at the church on Saturday beginning at 9:00 a.m.

Burial will be at the Tabor Lutheran Church Cemetery in Strandburg, SD. Military graveside honors will be provided by the VFW Post 9, Stockholm/Strandburg Post 1054 and DAV Chapter 171 and the American Legion Post . Loren enjoyed spending time with his coffee crew in the local cafes. In his earlier years he liked to trap, hunt and fish. He enjoyed driving around the country side checking on the crops and cattle and occasional trips down to the Labolt Dam.

Loren is survived by his wife, Sharon of Strandburg; his children, Lisa (Johnson) Joi of Strandburg, and Nelson Dahlgren of Watertown; three grandchildren: Kristi Johnson, Kody Johnson and Dylan Johnson; five great-grandchildren: Devin, Shelbi, Karter, Jagger and Carsen; his sisters, Audrey Ehnes of Denver, CO, and Joyce (Richard) Schultz of Ortonville, MN; and his sister-in-law, Judy Dahlgren of Spearfish, SD.

Loren was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John and Ted; and one sister, Karen Konstant.

The Milbank Flower Shoppe is in charge of floral arrangements.

MILBANK - Sue Kasuske, 64, Milbank, died Thursday, April 15, 2010, in her home.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Emanuel Lutheran Church at Milbank with the Rev. Keith Bicknase officiating. Music will be provided by organist Carol Ydstie and soloist Larry Tietjen.

Burial will be in the Milbank City Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be James Pauli, Janelle Hanna, Vera Easterby, Charlotte Green, Janice Vreim and her friends and employees at the Back Door Pub. Active pallbearers will be Dale Pauli, Gary Pauli, Larry Pauli, Greg Kasuske, Richard Buttke Jr., Chris Reil, Ryan Weber and David Thiele.

Visitation will be today (Monday) from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Emanuel-Patterson Funeral Home at Milbank and will continue Tuesday one hour prior to the services in the church. Family members are asked to meet in the church fellowship hall by 10:30 a.m. Tuesday to attend the services.

She was born Sept. 7, 1945, in Milbank to Marwood and Dona Marie (Gulck) Pauli. She graduated from Milbank High School in 1963.

She married Loren "Sonny" Dahlgren June 23, 1964, in Manhattan, Kan., and they had two children, Lisa and Nelson.

She married Harold "Bud" Kasuske Jan. 25, 1980, in Webster.

She was a member of the Emanuel Lutheran Church and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She also sponsored softball teams and pool and dart leagues.

Survivors include her husband, Bud; one daughter, Lisa (Johnson) Joi of Strandburg; one son, Nelson Dahlgren of Watertown; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four brothers, Dale Pauli of Kalispell, Mont., and James, Larry and Gary Pauli, all of Phoenix; one sister, Janelle Hanna of Sioux Falls; four stepchildren, Judy Buttke and her husband Richard of Twin Brooks, Carol Reil of Milbank, Don Kasuske of Appleton, Minn., and Charlotte Green and her husband David of Milbank; 14 stepgrandchildren; 16 stepgreat-grandchildren; and one stepgreat-great-grandson.
